Seniors Active Living Centre Program 2023-2024

A Program for the Elderly Stay Active and Happy

Supported by Government of Ontario, under Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, the Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) Program is an annual initiative that funds about 300 established SALC programs across Ontario to provide activities and services to the province’s seniors and older adults. UTS Group not only safeguards your security but also supports social inclusion. Therefore, we would like to share useful information with communities in need.

Application Deadline: February 9, 2023, 5 p.m. ET

Eligibility

Only approved SALC operators are qualified to apply for the grant.

Funding

Every year, operators can submit applications to the ministry for two different types of SALC Program funding: Maintenance and Operating funding and Special Grants. The ministry will cover expenses spent between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, for operators that follow the government fiscal year. The government will take into account expenses made between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023, for operators who use a calendar financial year.

Grant Information

In order to keep seniors active, autonomous, and engaged, SALC activities promote wellness, social engagement, and education. To satisfy the requirements of seniors in the community who might not feel comfortable returning to in-person programming or have trouble getting to a SALC program’s site, SALC operators are encouraged to broaden the scope of their programming and keep providing remote or virtual programming.
