Seniors Community Grants Program

Get Up to $25,000 to create meaningful programs for elderly

 Supported by the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, Seniors Community Grants (SCG) enable community organizations to provide opportunities for greater social inclusion, volunteerism, and community engagement for older persons. These grants can range from $1,000 to $25,000 in value. UTS Group not only safeguards your security but also supports social inclusion. Therefore, we would like to share useful information with organizations in need.

Eligibility

Non-profit groups may apply for up to $25,000 if they have been incorporated and operating since at least April 2022. These kinds of organizations include, for instance: 

  • Local Services Boards,  
  • Municipalities, or Regional Governments,  
  • District Social Services Administration Boards,
  • Indigenous groups, including band council, tribal council, self-governing entity, health access center, First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities or organizations,
  • Not-for-profit licensed retirement homes,
  • Groups with local Ontario community-based missions or those with provincial missions in Ontario.

Eligible applicants can be: 

  • Speak on behalf of senior citizen organizations or provide initiatives or services that directly assist older adults living in Ontario 
  • Those who are above 65 and registered with Transfer Payment Ontario. Create a One-key account and sign up for Transfer Payment Ontario. You can do this if you’re  
  • A not-for-profit organization that was incorporated in accordance with Ontario or Canadian law,  
  • If you’re an individual who represents an organization or group that supports the welfare of local seniors in the community.

Grant information

The Seniors Community Grant Program provides funding to non-profit community groups and organizations in your area so they can deliver programs, resources, and supports to older persons (55+) that: 

 

  • Live independently 
  • Live with safety and security 
  • Maintain communal ties,  
  • Prevent loneliness,  
  • Amass more financial security and social relationships 
  • Achieve greater financial security and social connections 
How to Apply

After setting up an account on Transfer Payment Ontario (TPON), submit an online application via TPON. 

Only one grant application may be made. 

The TPON system will send you an email to confirm receipt of your application once you’ve submitted it.
