This option provides a complete accessibility solution—without compromising any of the other elements that have made Von Duprin the industry’s most trusted exit device manufacturer.

The AX device was born out of a need to provide the market with a solution that meets recent ADA Standards for Accessible Design (Chapters 404.2.7 and 309.4) and California Building Code enhancements. Beginning in January 2014, the California Building Code (Chapter 11B-309.4) establishes a 5 lb. maximum force on operational hardware, including—for the first time—panic hardware.

The AX Series is subject to Von Duprin’s standard testing to ensure durability and functionality. The AX Series is the first UL-certified exit device to meet the new California Building Code requirements for accessible openings. This certification will help mitigate the risk of project delays, liability and lost time and money in having to re-specify openings.
